Last week we announced a major development for the FCN's 24-year-old
magazine Going Natural / Au naturel. It's going digital!
The print edition remains, and the digital edition can't be copied
electronically. But readers of the digital edition may enjoy live links,
video and audio (starting in the fall issue), zoom, searches on
keywords, and of course just reading the magazine without using paper and ink.
How to find and subscribe to the digital edition is indicated below. But
first, we tell you about another exciting aspect of this.
Every digital magazine has a preview mode, where you may see pages in a
small size (slightly too small to read) and zoom in on a few to read
them as samples. The problem here was the nudity in most of the photos.
After several discussions among the American host retailer of the
digital magazine, its Canadian distributor (who was heavily on our
side), and gN/aN, it was finally agreed that gN/aN would be treated the
same as Time or Macleans. No pixellation, no black bars, no restrictions
at all.
This is a clear advance for naturist publishing: a major electronic
retailer in the USA is not going to censor naturist photos, is not going
to warn readers about them, and is giving a naturist magazine the full
privileges of any mainstream publication.
----
We expect that subscribers to the paper edition will be able to read the
digital issues at full size, although that's not possible yet. We
encourage, however, all present and future readers of the magazine to
visit its digital edition online. Those who aren't subscribers may
purchase the magazine in its digital edition now, at a cost notably
lower than that of the paper edition for both single copies and an
annual subscription.
And there's no waiting for something in the mail.

The general site for the many digital magazines sold by this retailer is here:
http://www.zinio.com
From there you will be able to find gN/aN in the Special Interest
category, as well as the Canada section. Shortly the magazine should be
findable by the search function. The Zinio site also provides free
reader software for purchased issues or subscriptions.
***Please note that buying the digital edition via the FCN site (or the
first, longer link above) returns more money to the FCN.
